I love prep raw and freeze meal prep recipes. It is my favorite way to prep. On assembly day you add FIVE ingredients into a freezer safe container and freeze. Then, on a busy weeknight you put your (thawed) tenderloin into the oven or Air Fryer. A nice hands off dinner this way!

First things first. Pork loin and pork tenderloin are not the same thing! You can definitely use a pork loin for this recipe, but the cook time will change dramatically (it will take much longer).

Pork loin is back meat and looks more like a roast. It is much larger than a pork tenderloin. Usually 3-5 pounds.

Pork tenderloin is a very different part of the back and is small, usually 1 pound. You typically shouldn’t swap them for each other in recipes.

I have had oven baked pork tenderloin and it is great, but air fryer pork tenderloin is 10/10. It is the convection oven action of the Air Fryer than creates a crispy outside, locking in that moisture, creating a very moist dinner!

As for the flavor of this. Also 10/10 in my opinion! But, I am 100% Canadian and love love love anything with a bit of maple in it. It does have a bite to it as written so be careful adding more sriracha!

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1.5 lb pork tenderloin
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha hot sauce add more or less to taste preferences
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (garnish) optional
  • 1 tbsp green onions (garnish) optional

Instructions

Freezer Meal Prep

  • Add the all of the contents (except sesame seeds and green onion) to freezer safe container. I use the Foodsaver system to vacuum seal it.
  • Don't forget to label your meal!

Air Fryer Instructions

  • Thaw your pork tenderloin overnight in the fridge.
  • Place your pork tenderloin into the Air Fryer basket.
  • Set the temperature to 350F and the timer to 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, flip, and set time for another 10 minutes.
  • After the cook time check the internal temperature. 145F for medium rare, and 160F for medium. As written, this recipe is for medium. If you want it medium rare, decrease the time to your desired doneness.

Oven Instructions

  • Thaw your pork tenderloin overnight in the fridge.
  • Preheat the oven to 400F
  • In an oven safe skillet, heat olive oil, and brown each side of the tenderloin.
  • Once browned, place the oven save pan and browned pork into the oven for 20-30 minutes. Check internal temperature for doneness. 145F for medium rare, and 165F for medium.

    1. I put the machine on the very edge of the counter and hold the bag vertical, using gravity to help me! I then press seal as soon as the liquid starts to get sucked to the top. Works for me!

  1. This seems a little confusing, do you need to freeze this before you make it? Can you just marinate it in the refrigerator for awhile & then airfry or bake in oven? Thanks.
