Equipment

  • 6 or 8 quart Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter, softened to grease your bowl
  • 5 cups french or sourdough bread, cut into 1" chunks
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup Eggnog
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Grease your bowl that you will insert into your pot REALLY WELL and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, eggnog, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and vanilla.
  • Add the bread chunks to the egg mixture and gently combine.
  • If possible, let the bread soak in the egg mixture for 20 minutes. If not, just make sure all of the bread is coated with the egg mixture.
  • Transfer the bread and egg mixture to your greased bowl.
  • Cover the bowl tightly with foil.
  • Pour the water into the Instant Pot liner.
  • Put the trivet into the water.
  • Place the bowl with the egg and bread mixture on the trivet.
  • Secure the lid on your Instant Pot. Set the pot to sealing.
  • Set the pot to 20 minutes, high pressure.
  • When the pressure cycle is done, quick release the pressure.
  • Remove the bowl and the foil from the bowl carefully (it will be very hot).
  • Place under a broiler for 3-5 minutes to crisp the top of the bread up just a bit.
  • Scoop out and add toppings as desired!
